4 Things I Learned While Healing from Covid

As I laid on the couch healing, I began to wonder WHY it happened. I know you’ve heard the saying, everything happens for a reason.  Yea, the saying it over played a lot, but it’s true.  Thing thing is, we may never know the reason why some things happen until we cross over.

Other times, it’s easy to see why things happen.  For instance, when you get fired from a job. It’s Spirit’s way of trying to set you up on a better path.  Or if a relationship you loved ends, this is Spirit’s way of letting you know there is someone better out there for you.  SO often I hear about people hurting their foot, even breaking a bone because they need to slow down and relax.

However, I didn’t feel I was doing too much, I didn’t think I needed to slow down.  I wasn’t doing too much, I was just trying to make everyday count.  But…  As I continued to heal, I realized that wasn’t the case.  

I did need to slow down.  I needed to take inventory, I needed to learn these FOUR things that I’m now sharing with you.

I’ve debated about sharing these with you, but Spirit kept nudging me to let you know too so you can learn from my mistakes.  

By following these 4 things, you can reduce the stress in your life, move better, have better mental clarity, and honestly, become just a bit happier.

1. Don’t give 100% to things you do. Stick with 75%.

You may have heard that you need to give 100% to everything you do.  But according to Spirit, this isn’t the case. Giving 100% will leave you exhausted at the end of the day, with an empty cup. 

This is especially true for empaths, people pleasures, and type A personalities.  It’s time to dial down and not give it your all.  The world will survive if you only give it 75% of what your capable of.

In fact, not giving it your all will help you maintain MORE energy, allowing you to have more energy throughout your day, and your week. You’ll also be doing your body a favor by not constantly depleting yourself.

If your anything like me, you’ll want to keep giving everything you have. But is it really working for you? Yea, you may be having fun, but think about how much MORE fun you would have if you had more consistent energy.

2. Keep your plate half full.

Yea, you may have heard you have too much on your plate. And I’m here to tell you it’s time to empty it. Reflect on what’s on your plate right now, how can you get rid of some of it? It may hurt at first upholding boundaries with families and friends, but the better your boundaries are, the more you’ll be able to be there for them when the time counts.

If you realize you can handle a bit more, take on another task- DON’T. If you have free time, consider keeping it FREE. Too often, we spend our lives living from appointment to appointment. Saying yes to things because we want to help, but leaving little time for us to do whatever the heck we want!

Keep your plate half full. This will help you maintain the energy levels you want, and will help you comply with only giving it 75%.

3. Honor your physical vessel

So many of us are always in our minds! If we’re not thinking, we’re daydreaming, or learning something. We are constantly in our own minds doing something. When we really need to be more in our bodies especially if you’re really spiritual.

Spiritual peeps have a tendency  to neglect their physical bodies because we relate so much more to the energetic world then the physical.

But this can lead to health issues, depression, fatigue, and feeling like crap.

One thing I decided to do while healing is make taking care of my body a hobby! I am going to treat it like I would if I were on a bowling league or softball team. I am going to put in honest effort to not only get vibrant health, but look and feel beautiful in my body.

And this isn’t just about facials and bubble baths, but is also about keeping up to date on Dr. appts, dressing in a way that brings you confidence. Changing up your hair style, or trying make up. Whatever you want to do to celebrate this incredible vessel you were given.

***BONUS: The better you take care of your body, the better medium you will become because your body is the instrument you use to communicate with Spirit!

4. Listen & comply with Spiritual Guidance

Everyday spirit is trying to communicate with us and give us advice that will help us for our highest good. Sometimes we notice these signs, but we ignore them. Sure, sometimes you may not see the guidance, but many times we do but we don’t listen.

Like me for example, I get spiritual insight from my guides all of the time. But I know I don’t have to listen. In fact, much of the time I don’t if they’re talking about what I should do for my body. I’ve been told by Spirit not to eat gluten, drink caffeine, or do a lot of cardio.

They’ve been clear with their messages, but since I know that I don’t HAVE to do what they say, I just do what I want. However, while I was healing, I realized that I’m acting like a spoiled brat! I want to have so many things (like vibrant health, and a lot of energy) but I am not willing to do what I need to do in order to get there.

I know my Spirit guide is like WTF?! Is your Spirit guide saying the same for you?

If you are getting signs, or hints from Spirit to do something, just try it out. Even for 30 days and see how it goes. The truth is, you don’t HAVE to do it, but your life will be much easier if you do. AND… remember, you don’t have to be perfect.

Even though I’m guided not to drink caffeine, I still will induldge in my coffee during Coffee and Cards and when I meet with my aunt on Thursdays.

The goal isn’t to be perfect. The goal is to try to listen to the advice that you’re being given. It will make your life SO much easier. Spirit is like a parent who loves you and adores you! Try listening to what the info they’re giving you. (Easiest way is through meditation, but you can also try journaling, or pulling an oracle card).

    It’s hard for me to meditate, so I need to start journaling more. I’m good at it and it’s fun to look back months later to see what you wrote about. It’s like releasing all the weight off my shoulders.

    Hi Heather:

    I think most of us are pretty busy, and as you say, too busy. I’m programmed “to do work first,” before any pleasurable task. What I really need to take time for is learning clairaudience. I know many angels and guides by name, but rarely can I get “words.” Only the angels will speak clearly to me when they want to, which is seldom. I definitely get “acknowledgement” and answers to yes and no questions from them all, including my higher self, but I wish to hear their words.

    I’m glad you’re on the mend from Covid.
